My family owned a store two stores down from this place. Grew up eating that overly fried but so goooood chicken!!
Just found out that they closed….holy smokies…I can practically TASTE it in my mouth right now… =(
also found out that the McDonald’s in that area is all spruced up like a cafe now..weirdness…I remember when it first came in..heck I remember when the first ever EL MUNDO came in!!!
Def not the Washington Heights area I remember…did a frantic search online to see if the itty bitty pizza shop there is still open and it is..YAYYYYY best New York City pizza EVERRRR….

The whole area has changed so much..even our store…every owner kept it the same for over 100 years…until the moron who bought it from us who decided it was too old fashioned and made it “modern”. Sure enough, she went out of business in a year and half. Now it’s gone….FOREVER.
RIP Corporal Chicken….your stuff was legend to those of us who remember Washington Heights in the eighties and nineties…

There are days I am used to not living with my sis anymore
Then there are days like today..when I freaking miss her so much I want to cry.
Nothing bad happened…
I just miss the little everyday things..
like being able to just pop into the next room to chat with her….or grabbing something from the kitchen and plopping down on the couch together to play a board game or watch a movie at the spur of the moment…
I love my bro-in-law too…but…I hate that I have to plan to spend time with her now…and that it just sounds plain dumb now to want to meet up with her to veg out and procastinate all day together…haha ah… =(
